und überzeugte Tweeter wehren sich dagegen. Ich stelle die Studie vor und
thematisiere, was AutorInnen mit ‹Ambient Intimacy›, ‹Social
Grooming› und ‹peripheral
social awareness› beschreiben. Diese Phänomene machen Stimmung
und Kultur auf Twitter aus, die nur wahrnimmt, wer über einen längeren
Zeitpunkt selbst twittert.
Kritik
Ich beziehe mich auf die Twitter-Studie von ‹Pear Analytics› vom August 2009 und übersetze aus dem Posting die Hauptresultate:
Sinnloses Geschwätz gewann mit 40.55% aller erfassten Tweets; immerhin waren Tweets mit kommunikativem Inhalt an zweiter Stelle mit 37,55% und weitergereichte (RT) Tweets an dritter Stelle mit 8,7%.

Twitter ist - wie bei weshalb twittern beschrieben - für viele UserInnen persönliches und/oder berufliches Netzwerk. Auch banale Tweets haben ihre Bedeutung. Sie geben den Menschen hinter dem User, der Userin ein persönliches Gesicht. Häufig sind sie humorvoll, berichten über Ungeschicke, oder es sind Feedbacks, Fragen, Danke und private Erlebnisse. Sie machen im jeweiligen Kontext Sinn und sind wertvoll.
‹Ambient Intimacy ›
Lisa Reichelt prägte den Begriff Ambient Intimacy. Sie definiert ihn
Ambient intimacy is about being able to keep in touch with people with a level of regularity and intimacy that you wouldn’t usually have access to, because time and space conspire to make it impossible.
In ihrem Posting vom 01.03.2007 schreibt sie über ihre Recherchen und stellt Vergleiche an. Menschen erleben diese ‹osmotische Kommunikation› als bereichernd für ihr Leben (online und offline).
In ihrer Präsentation auf Slideshare begründet sie, weshalb Ambient Intimacy wichtig ist, verweist auf verwandte Begriffe von anderen AutorInnen und macht zusätzlich mit Bildern Ambient Intimacy verständlich. Zur Präsentation: Ambient Intimacy. Das Gleiche beschreibt mit anderen Worten Danah Boyd:
